Microlight
Microlight experience days are a fantastic way to take in the sights and sounds of flying in an open canopy flight. Taking a microlight flight is not for the faint hearted, but if you have got a head for heights there is no better way to experience flying as you soar over the countryside as you get airborne in either a flex-wing or fixed-wing light aircraft!

Extreme Microlight Experiences
Also known as "Ultralights" in certain countries, Microlights are two-seater aircrafts that are quite literally some of the most magnificent flying machines you'll have ever set eyes on! These small but mighty light aircrafts are available in flex-wing and fixed-wing configurations, and are a total thrill to fly in.
The fixed-wing aircrafts are traditionally in a closed cockpit, whilst those which are flex-wing are usually open air, so it depends on what your levels of bravery are like in terms of which one you opt to fly in, and you'll be able to see which one's available at the venue you go for.
But one thing's for sure, Microlights are really good fun to get airborne in. And best of all, those as young as 14 years old can fly one!
What Happens on a Microlight Experience?
On the day of the experience, you'll be welcomed to the venue by your professional microlighting instructor. You'll have what's known as a ground briefing. This is to get you familiar with the aircraft, how it operates, and what safety procedures and measurements you need to observe and look out for.
You'll get an understanding of exactly how the controls influence the flight of the Microlight, and of course, you'll also get a chance to take the controls yourself and put what you've learnt into practice for at least part of the flight, whether that's 30 minutes, 60 minutes or even 90 minutes up in the air.
If you opt for a flex-wing microlight, you'll also be kitted out in a regulation insulated flying suit to protect you from the elements if the weather's a bit colder.
Where Can I Go on a Microlight Experience?
The UK has a wide variety of microlighting clubs, all of which are approved and run under the British Microlight Aircraft Association (BMAA). They cover the length and breadth of the country, from Northumberland and Hull up north to Wiltshire and Somerset down south and everywhere else in between.
