Paragliding Experience Days
Compared to some of our other Extreme Flying Experiences we offer (here's looking at you, Wing Walking and Aerobatic Flights), Paragliding is a relatively more sedate way to take to the air, but that doesn't mean it's not short on adrenaline thrills!
Paragliders - or gliders for short, are aircraft which are heavier than air, and which get airborne by the reaction of air against its lifting surfaces of lift, drag and weight. The motion of the former generates the drag, and when this is unopposed, that is when the glider will begin its descent to the ground.
Flying in a glider is calmer, insofar as there's no noisy engine to contend with, but you're still in the cockpit of a glider and so you do still feel in place as it were. We'd even go so far as to say that it's the closest you could get to flying like a majestic bird.
What Happens on a Paragliding Experience?
On the day of your paragliding, you can expect to be welcomed at the venue, and taken through a full safety briefing, where you'll be brought up to speed with all safety measures for your flight.
A fully qualified gliding instructor will be showing you how to fly the glider, and if you feel brave enough to do so, you can even take on the controls and fly it yourself!
Another interesting thing to point out is that gliding is actually one of the few flying experiences that those as young as 14 years old can take on. In fact, many start their flying careers this way and have subsequently gone onto become commercial airline pilots.
So really, the sky is the limit if you're looking at advancing into a flying career in the long term - and you can say in years to come that it all started with the paraglider!

Our Paragliding packages are hosted at numerous different gliding clubs and venues all over the UK, from as far north as Selby in North Yorkshire to all the way down south in St Agnes in Cornwall, and everywhere in between.
