About the experience

Discover the stunning Mount Edgcumbe Park on a Segway! Situated on Torpoint and offering breathtaking views of Plymouth Sound, this is the perfect location for an unforgettable coastal Segway tour. Glide through the Tamar estuary, take in the wildlife, and marvel at the Grade II listed stately home. This isn't your typical Segway tour. Getting here is an adventure in itself, making it an experience the whole family will cherish. Most visitors arrive from Plymouth on the historic ferry, which adds to the excitement. Upon landing at Cremyll, a brief 10-minute walk leads you to the heart of the Mount Edgcumbe estate, where your Segway adventure awaits. Upon arrival at the Explorer's Outpost, you'll be taken to the Segway skills area. Here, precision driving takes center stage as you navigate through markers, wooden beams, limbos, and tight corners at a slow speed, allowing you to master the art of controlling these all-terrain transporters. If you're up for a challenge, embark on the coastal or wildlife versions of the trek. The coastal expedition offers breathtaking panoramas of the Rame Peninsula and Plymouth in the distance as you glide on your Segway. In addition to the beaches and water, there's a vast woodland to explore, the Barn Pool to visit, and the Avenue Tree Slalom with 23 trees to navigate around. Finish off with a 100ft hill slalom right in front of the stately home! On the wildlife expedition, you'll soak in the vistas of Plymouth and beyond before heading to the Deer Park and the expansive Grotton Plantation, a haven for animals. Afterwards, run down to the folly for another impressive lookout onto Plymouth Sound, capturing stunning photos at this picturesque spot before cruising back to base camp.

Gillian Aplin
My friend and I had a wonderful time at Mount Edgcumbe on Sunday the 14th August 2016. The instructors were very helpful for first time Segwayers. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the photos. We were lead to believe that we would have the photos at the end of the day to peruse, but we had to go onto the Facebook site and look for them the next day, after 1pm and to be totally honest they weren't the best. Everyone that had the Segway experience where on the site. As I am not on Facebook this was very frustrating for me. But overall we had a brilliant time, and the scenery was beautiful. Thank you
