Bored of spending too much time in the evenings scrolling on your phone or not being able to switch off from the office when you get in? It may seem like a longshot at first, but why not try a night-time adventure and kayak along the peaceful River Ouse in East Sussex after dark. Guaranteed to make you leave the world behind for 2.5hours, this guided tour will provide you with an escape from reality as you float through the gentle moonlit river with experts on hand and an itinerary all planned out for you with all the appropriate equipment. If you’re new to kayaking, don’t fret as this is an experience designed for beginners. You’ll be shown the basics from the start and will soon settle into the relaxing sound of the paddle in the water and the gentle rhythm of the floating river that will encourage you to leave the rest of the world behind. In the beginning, it may take your eyes a while to adjust to being in the dark but when they do, you might even see some swans or ducks along the way who are hunkering down for the night. Night kayaking doesn’t sound too bad now does it? So why not ditch the doom scrolling evenings or flicking through Netflix and never finding anything to watch and jump on a kayak instead. You’ll be pleasantly surprised and find it’s a calming way to switch off and try something new.

- Suitable for both beginners and regular paddlers
- Minimum age 18
- Maximum weight 18 stone (115kg)
- There are no requirements for this experience but being able to swim 50m and having a reasonable level of fitness is preferable
Minimum Age: 18 years
- Due to the nature of this activity, waterproofs and warm clothing are advised
- A change of clothing and appropriate footwear should be worn
- All instructors are experienced and hold relevant qualifications from British Canoeing as well as first aid and safety qualifications
- You'll achieve the British Canoeing Start Award as part of this trip. If you're brand new to the sport and really want to learn the basics to get started, then this is the award for you. You'll cover everything from getting in and out of the boat, what you need to wear and paddling forward.
