About the experience
Take to the skies in the ultimate vintage aircraft with a 60 Minute flight in a faithfully restored iconic biplane, available to book at one of a great selection of UK based aerodromes and airfields! This is the ultimate experience for those with a passion for all things vintage aviation, particularly those with an interest in the likes of the Tiger Moth or the Stampe, as you’ll get strapped into the seat of a classic fixed wing aircraft, and go through all the excitement of ‘swinging the prop’ out on the grass runway, as the engine fires up and you begin your ascent to level flight above the airfield. There’s very little that beats the excitement of being in that open cockpit, as your pilot demonstrates both the simple and more complex moves that the plane is capable of pulling off!

60 Minute Flights

* - Please note this venue will not operate experiences from 2nd July to 2nd August due to a private event

- There is a minimum height limit of 4'6" and a maximum of 6'4"
- Maximum weight limit is 16 stone
- Minimum age 14
- Prolonged periods of inactivity, air pressure changes, G pressure changes, turbulence, noise and light levels experienced during flights in open cockpit vintage aircraft may affect certain medical conditions
- Any passenger with any doubts about their health when flying should seek medical advice
- You are advised to wear warm comfortable clothing
- Friends and family are welcome to come and watch, time can usually be made to pose for photographs
Minimum Age: 14 years
- Weekdays and weekends between March and October
- Dates and flight times are subject to availability at your chosen venue
- Experiences are subject to weather conditions
- All Tiger Moth and other vintage aircraft flights are operated by aeroclubs fully compliant with Civil Aviation Authority rules and regulations
- The flight times quoted are 'chock to chock', so run from taxiing out to when you stop after landing
- Facilities vary from site to site but most venues have a clubhouse where you can purchase snacks and refreshments
- Entry to IWM Duxford is included for participants if selecting this venue

I had the most amazing time in a Tiger Moth, it was a birthday present from my son and his family. We arrived and were welcomed by the ground crew, when my turn came I was briefed and given a thick sheep skin flying jacket to wear, really made me feel the part. Once strapped into the cockpit the pilot taxied out across the grass, up to the runway and then we were off. After an amazing flight the pilot asked if I would like fly the plane back, he showed me how the controls worked and then said you have control. The Tiger Moth was so light and easy to handle it was a fantastic experience, it was like going right back in time, an open cockpit, the wind rushing by and seeing all below. One of the best birthday presents ever.

I had a great day , the pilot and ground crew were very friendly and the facilities good. I was lucky with the weather, it was a sunny and warm day. The flight in the tiger moth sitting in the front with your leather hat and googles reminded me of Biggles. I was allowed to fly the plane for a short while and requested a loop over which the pilot Phil carried out to perfection. I will remember the day for a long time.
